Day Six in Istanbul/ Rafting 'n Rocking

Sunday was a fun&long day. We woke up at 7 am and drove up to the east of Istanbul which is in the Black Sea Region of the country.

We went through the tough vegetation and after two hours we found ourselves in the heart of the river band. The tough mountains were very steep and all of them were covered with famous walnut trees. The road was getting narrower and our excitement was at its high peak. The deep valleys were smelling so fresh and the air was the purest air we can get.

At the final destination, a Turkish buffet breakfast with traditional tea was waiting for us.

After a nice breakfast we were ready for the rafting tournament. We had 15 teams and our team had a young Turkish captain. He was 14! :)

The river was not cooperating but our team was working together. In our team, Mr. B, Joshua, Mr. B's Brother, a Business Man, and our ride did a great job through the rough river. It was 8 miles run and took two and half hours to finish. We had a tea break at the middle of the race and the water was very refreshing in that hot day.

After a long race and water fight we got very exhausted. The mini-bus took us to the main camp after the shower and we had a great buffet lunch at the main camp. Turkish people got a chance to listen our Turkish songs. Also we got a chance to play our songs as well. We've been feeling a great positive atmosphere from Turkish people and Turks are very generous in every way!

Also, we'd like to thank to San Antonio Raindrop Turkish House and Mr. B for this great 5 days so far. Mr. Balikci still got many cool plans for us and we can't wait to have another adventure in this great country.
