Today we went to choose our new Turkish Instrument which is called "Saz". I got the boys from the Learning Center and we took the Subway to Sishane. This place is one stop away from Taksim. Taksim is one of the hot spot for the protesters!
We had about 4 hours to be there and pick a best Saz possible because we had a special invitation to one of the businessman's mansion.
The boys loved the subway and it was their first time! They did find it very exciting and people around us were very curious as well! They loved Joshua's hair! :)
At Sishane, I took the boys to the Saz shop and my friend took us to his friend who makes hand made instruments. He specializes in Saz. We had a chance to pick the best quality saz. Each saz cost about $750 and from my connection we won't pay a penny!!!
After coming back from the Saz place we stopped at one of the pizza place. Boys kept asking to have some pizza!
When we arrived to the dorm we had a chance to rest about an hour. Shortly, a businessman who went to UCLA years ago for his masters came and picked us up for that special invitation.
The mansion was spectacular! It was decorated with all Turkish art and rugs. It had a huge patio and a pool!
My friend told me that this place costs nine million dollars and it was at the heart of Istanbul. The view was amazing.
The boys enjoyed a late dinner over there! We had a great time and pleasure to meet those people who came to see the boys and they listened our stories about this journey!
